£7.2m Sustainable Refurbishment of The Chatwin Building, 81 Colmore Row, Birmingham

The team has successfully delivered a comprehensive £7.2m back-to-frame refurbishment of the Grade II listed 79-83 Colmore Row.

The team renamed the building The Chatwin Building, 81 Colmore Row, after renowned local architect Julius Alfred Chatwin, who designed the original building.

This market-leading project prioritises ESG-focused building amenities, featuring a unique communal workspace with a private terrace and integrated biophilic design.

Through a robust decarbonisation programme and full electrification, the building achieved an EPC B rating and a BREEAM In-Use ‘Excellent’ certification.

Demonstrating strong market demand, the team secured pre-lets across 50% of the building prior to completion, significantly outperforming the original business plan.

  • Key Features: Communal workspace with roof terrace, End-of-journey facilities, EV charging points, and premium workspace.
